| Christy Woods | Christy Woods is an outdoor teaching laboratory for Ball State students, as well as the community. Located on the southwest corner of our campus, Christy Woods is a 17-acre property filled with mature deciduous forest, tallgrass prairie, and other plant communities. The property is one of six managed by the Field Station and Environmental Education Center. | The Orchid Greenhouse and Wheeler Orchid Collection | Would you like to experience a small tropical environment in the middle of Indiana? You can at the Orchid Greenhouse. Ball State created the Wheeler Collection to conserve rare and endangered species of orchids, disseminate them for conservation, and use the collection for research and education. We display orchids with other tropical plants to give you the impression of being in a small tropical environment. A terraced "mountain" and waterfall give you a hint of the cooler, high-elevation rainforest environment and a glimpse of the cloud-forest orchids that grow there. You will also witness a display of tropical poison arrow frogs, since rainforest conservation is about both plants and animals. |

| Cardinal Greenway/White River Greenway | Cardinal Greenways is a private, not-for-profit organization that encompasses the Cardinal Greenway, White River Greenway, Historic Wysor Street Depot and Cardinal Equestrian Trail. The Cardinal Greenway portion is the longest rail-trail in Indiana and spans almost 60 miles from Marion through Muncie to Richmond in East Central Indiana. We receive no public funds to help us with trail maintenance and Depot operations. We therefore depend on trail users and interested community members to support our many trail enhancements with gifts of time, talent, and financial resources. |
| Art & Soul by Phoebe | Art and Soul by Phoebe Gallery represents artists locally, nationally, and internationally. The Gallery embraces all the "arts" with events for poetry/spoken word, and the performance arts. All events are free to the public. The Gallery also gives an annual $500 scholarship to a Delaware County High School Senior Art Student. It offers classes for children in art and dramatic arts, and is located in downtown Muncie, Indiana |
