The First Tee of Greater Austin Presents Award to CTX President

On Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, The First Tee of Greater Austin presented its Responsibility Award, one of the Nine Core Values Awards, to Dr. Tom Cedel, President of Concordia University Texas. Hosted by Evan Smith of The Texas Tribune, Cedel received one of the Nine Core Values Awards, which also recognized eight other leading Austin citizens who personify the values taught by The First Tee.
The First Tee of Greater Austin promotes nine core values. These values include honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment. Others who received awards at the luncheon included Ray Benson, of the band Asleep at the Wheel, DeLoss Dodds, the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at The University of Texas, and Betty Dunkerly, a former Mayor Pro Tem and Councilwoman of Austin.
“I am honored to accept this award alongside other great leaders in our community,” Cedel, said. “I strongly believe in the nine core values The Greater Tee of Austin promotes and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this presentation."
